The house at 138 Lenin street

One of the most representative stone public buildings of the city of the end of the XIX century was originally intended for a female pro-gymnasium. It consolidates the corner of central Lenin and Koenkozov streets. It is characterized by an effective entrance a thin combination of stucco molding of plaster and carved wooden parts. Below - view from Lenin street (in the background is a house along Lenin street - see page 18).


In early 2019, new gates were installed, as the old ones fell from a strong wind.

Building information
It was built in 1911 and housed the first female pro-gymnasium, after which it was transferred to state agencies and for many years was a teacher training school. In 2017, the building became a municipal one and was registered on the balance of the Teacher Training College named after I. Beibosunov. One room is occupied by the youth volunteer organization "Leadership".

The building is an architectural monument of national importance. One of the most representative stone public buildings of the city of late XIX century, originally designed for women's gymnasium. Fixes the corner of the central streets of Lenin and Koenkozov. It is distinguished by a spectacular solution of the entrance part, a delicate combination of stucco and carved wooden parts. History:

On February 22, 1910 the meeting of the Plenipotentiaries of Przhevalsk initiated a petition to the military governor

of the Semirechensk region to open a four-class female gymnasium in Przhevalsk. The opening of the Przhevalsk pro-gymnasium was held on October 9, 1911. The room of the gymnasium was a two-storey building with 10 rooms.
In 1917 the gymnasium was opened. Przhevalsk Municipal Public Administration initiated a petition to convert the progymnasium into a 7th-grade grammar school with high school maintenance at the expense of the treasury. On October 1, 1917. The city council of Przhevalsk decided to open a fourth-grade real high school in the city at the expense of the city and with some voluntary donations.

About the building
It is obvious that these houses are decorated by picturesque wooden valances and window openings with carvings made by hand saw, sheds above entrances, small porches, wickets and gates. All of them are made by hand.

About Biibosunov Pedagogical College
In 2017, the building became municipal property and was transferred by the City Hall of Karakol to the pedagogical college.
Now the building is the 3rd building of Pedagogical College, where 6 groups study.

About youth volunteer organization "Leadership".
The organization occupies one room since 2005 with the permission of the City Hall of Karakol.
Year of establishment and history of YVO “Leadership”.
YVO “Leadership” was founded on November 1, 2005 as a youth volunteer organization under the auspices of the Public Association Leader, a center of civic society initiatives.

MISSION, VISION AND AIN GOALS OF THE ORGANIZATION

Mission of the organization: Involving of youth in process of civil society building and development through trainings, realization of projects, programs and propagation of volunteerism ideas by interaction and cooperation with international and local volunteer organizations. YVO “Leadership” has three main programs: International Volunteer Exchange Program, Kids Helping Kids, School of Civics.

Vision: The YVO "Leadership" is a professional organization in the fields of youth capacity-building and volunteer movement at the international level.

Goal: To create a sustainable environment for youth and volunteerism development through interaction with various stakeholders.


BENEFICIARIES/TARGET GROUP/CLIENTS OF THE ORGANIZATION.

The organization's activities are based on the principles of democracy and huanity, accessibility, the priority of human values, life and health of an individual, and love of nature.

The main value and engine of activities of our organization are OUR VOLUNTEERS.

• Youth and youth leaders;

• Youth NGOs and organizations working with youth;

• Government bodies and local self-governance bodies;

• Decision-makers;

• Orphanages and centers for children with disabilities;

• Volunteer centers and organizations abroad.

MAIN ACTIVITIES OF THE ORGANIZATION.

The organization has been successfully working for more than 11 years now and has extensive links with universities and other educational institutions, the administration of Karakol town, and works within three directions: “School of Democracy and Leadership”, “International Volunteer Exchange” and “Kids Helping Kids” programs. The interested environment notes the organization's commitment to the idea of involving young people in the process of formation and development of civil society through the development of volunteerism.

Decorated with wooden carved details on the gables, and balcony, which are called platbands. The windows are framed with stucco. The drains are secured with handmade cast-iron fasteners.

An effective carved balcony is decorated by double small arcs with "weights", cloning the characteristic stone part of the 17"1 century Russian architecture.

The signs on the buildings were installed as part of the project "Ideas transforming the city - Karakol".
Objective: Creation of an interactive platform on the basis of Shaarkan in Karakol city to strengthen the social capital of the urban community and tourist attraction of the city.
The Karakol Heritage Initiative was initiated by the MoHE "Leadership" together with the Issyk-Kul regional state archive and the media partner of the radio station "Wave of Issyk-Kul" with the support of the public and donors.
Project objectives:
- To promote the preservation of Karakol's architectural heritage;
- develop an interactive online map showing the historical sites of the city;
- conduct a thematic media campaign to attract the attention of local residents and the development of civic engagement.
